GIRLS' FRIENDLY SOCIETY
- In view of thin being jubileo year for the Girls' Friendly Society, the members have been busy for the last three months hi arranging a little operetta to Celebrate the occasion, aDd to r_aise funds •or the extension of the Wellington 1-odge. About forty members . and friends are taking part in it, and have been working l larc l to make their effort a success. The play is "Princess Ju Ju " a Japanese operetta in three acts by Glemeutena Ward. The story is founded on an old Japanese fairy,tale, and a number of good choruses, solos', and dances, accompanied by a string orchestra, are introduced. It is under tho patronage and in the presence of Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson and a party, from Government House the -first <"lay, and on the second even£n<* the Mayoress and » party will be-'present. It is hoped that all who are interested in tho welfare of our young women will make an effort to see the performance, which will be played at St ■ Mark's Schoolroom 'on Ist and 2nd July at 8 o'clock:
