Among the'worst may be mentioned The Terrace, Salamanca road (especially the dangerous ''hairpin bend" at the junction of /Kelburn parade), Upland road, and Oriental /parade. ■; The surfaces of these roads. are- closely pitted' with potholes, and to' drive over ..them".is a peuhance to driver and passengers and ruination to a;caiv :,- •,.-....
Because there is a scheme to make certain bitumen roads is no good reason for neglecting ordinary routine maintenance. If motorists 'are tajced (in/ advance) for bitumen roads, iis 'the usual expenditure derived . fvpni/rates cut put altogether? The few, .feeble attempts at repairs now.being made, which 1 consist of
throwing some. shale into the holes, are simply wpste pf time and money. /Unless the ;'proper; material is used and
