SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.
H«avy rains and floods have been experienced in some of the northern districts, and the weather has been unsettled generally, but improved conditions were reported this morning. Strong westerly to southerly -winds have prevailed, with decreasing force in most parts ol the country, the disturbances having -moved rapidly eastwards since last night.
