, , PEKIN, 25th June. Ina demonstration to-da.y was a, large one, and included students, merchants and workmen, Catholics, Protestants, and Mohammedans. Some of the banners were inscribed, -"Declare war against ilngland, and one of the slogana was Death to the English Brigands." .Nevertheless there appeared to be less enthusiasm and excitement. Numerous Chinese troops and police guarded foreign houses and shops and kept the parade under observation, but there was no disturbance.
