STRAND THEATRE.
.:"Cornered" is now. showing at the 'Strand Theatre. The leading role is a ;dual- characterisation, that of twin sisters:, Botll sisters. live' in different ■worlds, one in poverty and the other in wealth, and,each does' not know of the .other's existence.'' The story begins to mbvewhen the discovery is made by the leading _figures of Chinatown that a certain heiress resembles their pal;: who is in reality, sister to the heiress. Complications arise when the girl of Chinatown is .'sent" to the home of-the heiress, who has left the city, to establish herself ..in' the household as the heiress. Marie Prevosi, as'the twins, is at her best'in a characterisation which seems strangely suited to her.- "MMern Matrimony" is the second feature, starring Owen Mbofe and 'Alice Lake. . The entire story has to d 6 with, their trials and tribulations after marriage. The supporting pro-" gramme is exceptionally good.
