MOUNT COOK SCHOOL
ASSOCIATION OF OLD PUPILS,
An enthusiastic meeting of old scholars of the Mount Cook School was held at the school last evening for the purpose of- forming an association of ex-pupils. Mr. W. E. Fuller presided over a large gathering. _ The chairman stated that for sonis time an agitation had been in progress for a new.site and school, and now that a site had been decided upon, there was a great .deal which an old pupils' association could do. The foundation-stono of the new school was to be laid on 15th July, and it was necessary that the association should be formed and be in a strong position to help with the iubileo celebrations of the school this year and the opening of the new building next year.
Other members of the school committee and ex-pupils spoke on the -desirability of forming a body to preserve the memories of former happy times at school, and it was uanimously decided to elect a temporary secretary and a committee to draw up. a constitution and draft rules, regulations, and objects of the association, and to report at a later meeting. Mr. C. M'lntyre \va* elected secretary, and- the committee comprised the following: Mesdames Laud, hitossi, Stephenson, and IJarton ' Jlosssr. Hyland, Barton, Howe, JE'A'air! Blair, Phillips, .Avery. M'Cormick ]' Sinclair, Moffitt, Worth. Sharp, Howitt' Mori-is, Travcrs, and Kitlo.
