Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court to-day.' For fighting in Cuba street, Frank Edward hades and Michael Florence O'Donoghue each fined £1, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. A first-offending inebriate was convicted and discharged. Henry Silk was fined-£3, in default seven days" imprisonment* for usin<r indecent language. ° James Hamilton Plower (25) who pleaded guilty to the theft of £11 from two letters which had been given to him by a friend to post, was fined £3, in detault 14 days' imprisonment, and ordered to make restitution within a fortnight Vennett Clmchton Miller was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment for deserting from the steamer Maindy Manor Peter Colin Hume, who appeared for sentence on eight charges of false pretences, was ordered to come up for sentence i! called upon within twelve months, on condition that he remains at the Rotoroa inebriates' homo for that period.
