In conversation with an "Eveimig Post" representative to-day, Mr. 11. M. Jones, Mayor of Eastbourne, said that the borough vfould do its best to aid the proposed national memorial to the late Prime Minister, Mr. W. 1\ Maseey. He had not moved in the matter co far, because lie was anxious to see what the larger centres were doing first, but now that the city of Wellington had arrived at a decision in regard to its part, in the collection of the necessary funds for thfe purpose, he proposed to vail a public meeting at Eastbourne in the near, future, vfhtn he would place, befors residents proposals on the seina lines m
