PROPOSED CHANGE OF NAME
MR. CURLING'S SUGGESTION. .Referring briefly to the recent caucus of the Eeform Party, Mr. W. J. Girling, M.P., told an interviewer (slates the "Marlborough Express) that members of the party were very enthusiastic and optimistic.in regard to the future. While nothing had actually been done in regard to a fusion with the Liberal-Labour Party, nevertheless, as the Prime Minister had stated, a committee had been set up to enter into "conversations" with members from the other side. llr. Girling said he regarded it as a genuine ntterj.pt, to anivc at an n/idei'stanilim.', though ;t.large number of the Rnfonn member* considered Hint the paiiy would do bettor to continue as at'present. -Mr. Girling said that it hud been advocated at tlic caucus that the name ol the party should be changed to the Kalional I'iirty. and it was on his motion that th 9 caucus referred the proposed change of name to the Prime Minister for consideration.
