" The members of the Wellington branch of the South African Veterans' Association will hold their annual church parade in connection with, "Vereenging Day" celebrations on Sunday next, and an-invilatiotrhas been extended to members of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association to take part. A parade of returned soldiers lias therefore been tailed for 2 p.m. on Sunday next, at the Returned Soldiers' Club Bu;ldings| Brandon street, and it is confidently expected thai there will be a full attendance of meriibers. Medals will be worn. LABOUR PARTY MEETING Under the auspices of tho Wellington L..R.C., a public meeting will be held on Sunday evening at 8 o'clock, in the Empress Theatre, to urge the repeal of the Government's deportation legislation, and to make a protest against its policy of banning political literature. The speakers will be : Mr. P. Fraser, M.P., Mr. L. Glover, representing the Now Zealand Alliance of Labour, Mr. W. T. Young, secretary of the Federated Seamen's Union, and one from the Trades and Labour Council. Mr, 'J. Brjndle. president of the New Zealand Labour Party, will take the chair.
