Miss Elizabeth Lisle, aged 104 years London s oldest inhabitant, who was presented at Queen Victoria's ' Court 80 years ago, died in her sleep; She met many nineteenth century notabilities, including Charles; Dickens, Cardinal .New--man, Benjamin Disraeli, and Mrs Browning. She often appeared publicly •as an elocutionist, and repeated lon^ passages from "Hamlet." After her hun-dredth-birthday, .she refused to be treated as an invalid, and declared : "I've lived longer than most modern girls will with' their lipsticks and powder-puffs." bne scorned their short skirts, cigarettes paint, and powder. •.-.-•. ,- ; ,
