■oTr 6 o a6S in LanEuage and Art cf public Speaking recently formed under the. auspices of the W.E.A. at Lower Mutt held its weekly meeting on Tuesday evening last. The chairman, Mr. * ,f; l'owns > made appropriate reference to the late Prime Minister, after which a motion expressing sympathy with Mrs. Massey and family was carried in silence. The work of the evening consisted, of an address by the tutor, who dealt, witn a number of logical fallacies; a brief- address by a member of the class, _Mr. T. Garrat; individual reading of newspaper- editorials; criticism of reading by tutor; use of certain words, phrases, etc., contained in passages read.
