AUTOMOBILE CLUB
EXECUTIVE MEETING.
A meeting oE the executive of the Wellington Automobile Club was held last evening. Mr. S. George Nathan presided.
Tlio financial statement showed a bank credit of £28 4s, £1049 4s 4d in inscribed slock, and £321 3s tOd in the Post Oince savings Bank. A legal opinion was produced to the effect that motorists wer* not bound to give a, written statement to the police after witnessing a motor accident. Members are to be advised of the contents of the opinion.
The Mam Highways Board advised that information was being collected with regard to level crossings and respective dangers. Information would be available later.
A complaint was made as to a motordriver alleged to have run into a member's ear, then a motor-cyclist, and'tlien a.bus in Taita Gorge. Is was suggested thai the club's solicitor should attend the court and press for heavy penalty. The secretary was asked to confer with the solicitor.
Messrs. H. W. Shortt and H. Fihner were appointed new members of the committee.
