(Received 22nd April, 2 p.m.) . LONDON, 21st April. Mr. Thome, sen., in a.farewell letter to Norman, whoso execution, despite the agitation for a reprieve, occurs to-mor-row, says :—"Keep brave and steadfast. Your friends cannot think of you as a murderer. We have full assurance that we shall meet you in Heaven where there are no more partings and sorrow, and our tears will be wiped away. God grant you a glorious entry into His Heavenly Kingdom, where your dear mother is waiting to welcome you." Mr. Thome, in an interview Eaid: "Perhaps Norman's death will help others, and may make the public pause and think what a terrible thing the death penalty is, if only because mistakes cannot be rectified. Ido not wish to say harsh things, but I do not think he had fair play. Perhaps the question may be raised in the House of Commons." x
