PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED.

Promotions in the Post and Telegraph Department are announced as follows:— Mr. H. P. Donald, chief postmaster at Timaru, lias been appointed chief postmaster at Christchurch. Mr. F. W. Penlington, chief postmaster at Napier, has been promoted to be chief postmaster at Dunedin. Mr. A. A. Allan, senior supervisor of telegraphs, Wellington, has been appointed superintendent at Wellington. Mr. J. M. Williams, senior supervisor of the Telegraph Office at Auckland, has been promoted to be superintendent in that city. Mr. J. B. Jordan, stores auditor, has been promoted to be stores manager at Wellington, vice Mr. C. H. Nicholls, who retires after forty years' service. _ Mr. C. H. Marriott, telegraph superintendent at Napier, has been promoted to similar duties at Dunedin. Mr. W. T. Johnston, assistant postmaster at Christchurch, replaces Mr. Donald at Timaru. Mr. C. A. Mathieson, at present chief postmaster at GreymcTuth, replaces Mr. Penlington as chief postmaster at Napier. . : Mr. D. M. Mackintosh, postmaster at Dannevirke, succeeds Mr. Mathieson as chief postmaster at Greymouth. Mr. 11. E. Fades, chief postmaster at Westport, succeeds Mr. W. T. Johnston as assistant postmaster at Christchurch. Mr._ H. D. Davies, postmaster at Eaugiora, is promoted to chief postmaster at Westport.. • -Mr. J. V.
