(niITED PHESS ASSOCIATION—COrYRtGtIT.) (Received 22nd April, 9 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. Mr. Justice Blair has been appointed Chief Justice, in succession to the late Mr. Justice M'Cawley. The Solicitor-t-eneral, Mr. W. Webb, will be appointed to the Judiciary, and made President of the Queensland Arbitration Court.

Ihe Chief Justice of Queensland (Mr. Justice. P. W. M'Cawley) dropped dead on the Eouia street Railway Station, at •Brisbane, on 16th April. "Ho was tbe youngest Chief Justice in the- world being appointed „to that position nfc the age of 31, He was 44 jvliea he died.
