SHOW ASSOCIATION
The resiffiiation.'of Mr. G. Mitchell as secretary of the Wellington Show Association was tendered at a meeting of the association on Monday. Mr. Mitchell's retirement was consequent upon his accepting a position as manager of Munt, Cottrell, and Co., and his resignation had previously been accepted with regret by the Executive Committee. On the proposal of the chairman, Mr. J. Myers, it was decided that Mr. Mitchell be appointed honorary collector, and that he be given a scat on all committees. Mr, C. M. Bowden,. secretary to tho Associated Chambers of Commerce and president of the Accountants' Society, was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Mitchell. The chairman pointed out that Mr. Bowden had agreed to accept a salary of £350, the association to retain the services of a. lady typist at £150. Mr. Bowden would provide office accommodation, telephone, etc.. which ■would mean that the cost to the association would be £480 as against £598. Several members expressed their confidence in Mr. Bowden, and it was further agreed 1 that Mr. Mitchell should act as director of the i apprpachiqg Show.
