EASTERN SUBURBS TROPHIES. Trophies won during the recent Eastern Suburbs bowling tournament ?;ero presented at a function held in the Seatoun Club's pavilion.on Saturday night Mr. P. Myers, president of the 'Seatoun Club, was in the chair. Mr. 0. Barry, in proposing the health I of the winning team, Messrs. W J j Ferkins (skip), J. Ha.rt, J. R. Wylio' h' Osborne, and F. Edwards (Island Bay)' ! congratulated the Island Bay Club on the success of its representatives and the skip on the way in which ho had handled the team. Mr R. A. Holland proposed the toast of The .Runners-up," Messrs A C Blake (skip), J. G. Slater. T. Ward ,l' Grant, and R. Renner (Hataitai). and expressed the pride felt in their performances and in the success of the tournament,- which had done so much to cement friendship and promote ■<»ood-fel'ow-ship. . . j Messrs. Ferldns and Blake suitabJv responded. Mr. 0. Bary was presented with a case of pipes in recognition of the mannerin which lip had carried out the duties of umpire at tho tournament. In tho course ol his reply; Mr. Barv expressed regret that, after thirty rears' Dotvling, ho would -have to retire " from active participation in tho management ol tho game. Other toasts honoured -were tho "Sentoun Club," "Seatoun Team," md "Tho Wellington Centre." ■ • ■ Musical items were contributed by Mr. I* B . Barnes ("The-Road to Mandalay- and "Take Mo.
