BLIGHT IN AUSTRALIA
UNIONS UP IN ARMS
AT WORKING THE VOLUMNIA-
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPIRIGHT.)
(Received 57th March, 10 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day
The maritime unions threaten serious trouble as the result of the working of the Volumnia's cargo by the Returned Soldiers' Watersiders' Union. The most serious threat is that the cargo will not be transhipped, and that action will be taken to hold up other steamers. It is understood that strong efforts are being made by the Watersiders' Federation and the Seamen's Union to enlist the sympathy of the Trolley and Draymen's Union. A meeting of that body ia being held to-night to consider what attitude ifc should adopt towards the vessel.
