ANOTHER SATISFACTORY YEAR.

In the annual report of .the Royal Wellington Choral Union for the year ended 31st January, 1925, to be presented at the annual meeting on Tuesday next; the committee remarks that the period under proved very successful from a 'musical and , social point of view, and-satisfactory financially, considering the prevailing, monetary stringency, which has adversely affected all musical enterprise during the year. "In addition," the committee states, "it has to be remembered that competition amongst ourclaes of music tends to increase each year." The subscribers at the end of the year totalled 373, being a net loss of 44 from the previous year. While fully appreciating the .high standard of the work of the chorns, the committee remarks that it cannot but feel that there is some room for improvement in attendance at rehearsals, and it accordingly appeals to slack members to be more rppriilar in future.
