PRUSSIAN POLITICS

DR. MARX SUCCEEDS BRAUN

TRIES TO FORM COALITION.

<Gsm» WIISS ASSOCIATION.—COM!US«T.»

IAUSTRUiUN-NEW ZEALAND OABIS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 10th February.

The "Daily Telegraph's" Berlin correspondent says that the ex-Chancellor, Dr. Marx, was elected by a small majority to succeed Herr Braun in the Prussian Premiership. Marx is trying to form a Cabinet consisting of Centrists, Democrats, and Socialists, but he cannot gain a majority unless he induces the People's Party to remain neutral. Marx's election is a victory for the Republicans over the Nationalists and Communists who united to defeat Braun.
