MEETING OF PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION. ;

A meeting of the Roseneath and "Mount Victoria Progressive Association was held last evening, Mr. H. W. Bmbid^e presiding. ■'■■'■■■• °

It was decided to write drawing the Ctty Council's attention to the necessity of providing adequate discharge for storm water in the district. .

, ihe City/Council riotitied the association that its request to the council tv revert to the ward system for the election ijf councillors could not be acceded to. '■

The secretary reported that he had written to the council on 18th December m regard to a trackless tram or mo-tor-bus service, asking the council's intentions on the-matter, and at the same time pointing -out .that the association iiad been approached'to support a private motor-bus service through the district irom Hataitai, via Grafton road Palhser road, and ■ Hawker street to Courtenay place. The secretary said he had pointed out that Roseneath was practically the only high-level district that was without transport access, and trusted that the council would <nve the matter its urgent and serious attention A letter was read from the council under date of 4th December, in which it was_ stated that the Tramways Committeo had under consideration the question of routes over which the trackleSs B y " tern might be tried out. y It was fnither reported that on 27th December Mr. A, L.
