( J?° I'lyl'ly mcct 'ng of the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce wis held yesterday afternoon, Mr H D Bennett (president) in the chair •' ' " A letter was received-from the New Zealand Native ■ Bird Protection Society, asking f or the 8 t of the chamber in its efforts to protect native birds, and to conserve native bush: It was decided to inform the society' of the chamber's symDath'y, and aisa that it would be pleased to hear iurtner, from the society concerning its efforts in.the directions indicated. Owing--to the poor'response to the proposal to organise a Wellington business and professional men's trip through a portion of the North Island, in order to bring businessmen into closer touch -with conditions in other parts of the country, it was resolved to postpone the visit until May next. , If it is nob possible to carry out the intended visit, then there is a possibility' of arraninric a trip to Marlborough.
