In connection -with.the point raised in'regard to speed limits, the reply was to , the effect that the Motor Vehicles :Act. gave', power, among other thyigs, to jnake regulations fixing the maximum speed of motor vehicles. . . '.It was further stated that- bylaws of local bodies should,'. in so far as such bylaws might be inconsistent with regulations, made under the Motor Vehicles Act, be' deemed to be subject to those regulations. ', _The half-yearly meeting, to be held at JSiapier, was fixed for 20th February. The cash balance of the union was shown to, be at £180 Ms 3d, and accounts totalling £29 -17s were passed for payment. ■. :^- ; .
