A NARROW ESCAPE

A narrow escape from drowning was experienced in Lowry Bay yesterday by a little girl of six years, who, with two small companions, commandeered a canoe and paddled out from the beach. Two of.the girls''jumped but before the canoe had gone very far, but the little girl remained, in the boat until the water was well'over her depth,, when she decided that the land was-after all preferable. Her in the deep water attracted the attention of Miss P. North, who pluckily swam in with all her clothes on and pulled the almost drowned ypuijgster to the shore. Artificial respiration was resorted to and the child soon recovered. , ,
