Lord Harris, interviewed by the Australian Press Agency, said: "If Gilligan loses the toss at Adelaide he can approach the Board of Control with the suggestion that in future Tests'the captains toss only in the first, third, and fifth matches, the loser of the first and third Tests having the right of choice of innings in the second and fourth gam.es." He is of the opinion that "Eng-lish-counties will never agree to the Tests lasting longer than three days. P. F. ("Plum") Warner, in reply to an interviewer, combated the idea that long Australian matches were dull. The bowling_ and fielding,.he said, were always high class, and the field was cun- j ingly placed, causing the batsmen to constantly fight for~runs. There was a thrill in every minute.
