An extraordinary general meeting of the Gear Meat Company was 'held at the head office/last' night to confirm a resolution passed at the. annual meeting, providing for an alteration in the articles of association, under which the directors of the company would be empowered to distribute by way of special dividend £460,000, this amount 1 to' be provided,, on necessary authority being given, out of. 4£ per cent. New Zealand Government Inscribed Stock (free of income tax). At the first meeting it was pointed out thatlhe financial position of the company was now such as obviated thenecessity of keeping such large liquid resources. The resolution was duly confirmed. ■ - .
