PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
There probably has never been a play of the Civil War which more realistically 'sets, forth the pathos' of. the lost cause of the South than did "The Warrens of Virginia," written- by William C.'de Mille. It is a. theme''that never fails to strike a' responsive note in the hearts of people. ; As a stage play it was a great success.' Now, it-has been made into a screen production by W.il-. liam Fox, and is. appearing. at the Paramount Theatre to-morrow. Unlike most war. dramas, it touches' lightly, on actual battle scenes and dwells long on romance of., Che war idea. Brother against brother—sweethearts torn apart —bitterness—hatred—patriotism. All the big emotions that were brought out in those soul-trying days give opportunity ior fine acting and for dramatic situations. : Added .to this is an element of' neyerrfailing interest in the representation of famous historical characters;" The,,present attraction,' "The Cyclone River," will be filially screened this' .evening..; . •' _ ■ ■ • •-■;■■• v : .;•' People who will go to see "Dante's Inferno," the William Fox picture which is^'tb'b'e screened at the' Paramount' Theatre .shortly, and v who expect to come but; of the theatre later on the verge of hysteria '■'•'and: with nerves unstrung because of the awful things' they thinkthey're going to see, will be^ agreeably mistaken. Although .the 'finest, best-re-membered, ' and most , spectacular' - 'incidents described in the poem' have been brought faithfully- to the screen, they have been, handled in a way that is more fantastic and beautiful than gruesome. A modern story, lightly .threaded'into' the production, contains some good wholesome bits of humour, which 1 serve to, lighten up the heavier parts of "the' Inferno-proper.' :' ..-., , <, i i
