A FAMILY TRAGEDY

SYDNEY, 26th December. Henbert Ellis, on returning to his home in Mudgee, at mid-day, opened the bedroom door, looking for Tiis wife, and found the bodies of his two childveri, Enid, aged three years, and the baby, three weeks old, lying in bed, both dead, their throats beinrr terribly gasher«Hil^ife was tying at the bottom ot tlie bed, also with her throat cut She was removed to hospital, where she died. All the wounds were inflicted with a butcher's knife. Mrs. Ellis had been m bad health for some time, and apparently was demented- when she committed the act.
