WATERSIDER'S CLAIM FAILS.
(BI TELEGRAPH.—PPES3 ASSOCIATION.)
AUCKLAND, This Day. The Arbitration Court delivered judgment in a case 'heard in Wellington on 27th November in which Arthur Brown claimed from the Union Steam Ship Co. compensation in respect to an injury sustained on 16th September, 1924. Plaintiff left work at the Miramar Wharf at 3 p.m. Within ten minutes he trod on a loose stone and jarred his knee, and since has been unable to work as the result of'_ the injury. It was contended the accident arose out of and in course of his employment. The company exercised an.option under the award of paying travelling time between Miramar and Wellington instead of providing a conveyance. In the Judge's opinion the application failed, because the accident did not arise in the course of his employment. Judgment was for the defendant company. Leave was reserved to apply for costs.
