NEW YORK, 17th December.
With tho approach of the Christmas holidays and the coiisequent restricted 'liquor supply owing to the greater demand, New York has been visited by an epidemic o£ alcoholic poisoning; ■ *The tenth victim since Sunday died to-day at tlie Bellevue Hospital, bringing the month's total of deaths to 26., Twenty other patients are threatened .with the loss of their sight, and eleven more are expected to die.' '
