SAINT-AULAIRE'S WITHDRAWAL
AN ALLEGATION DENIED.
(UNITED PKES3 ASSOCIATION.—COPYK.KSHT.)
(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 16th December.
The Paris Oppositionist newspaper "Liberto" publishes a statement that, the decision to withdraw the Comtc de Saint Aulaire from the Ambassadorship in London was reached on the. evo of the British election owing to Mr. MacDonald's request, forced upon him by his own extremists, that M. Herriot should send an Ambassador likely to be more accommodating on the subject -of international Socialism, hence ' the appointment of M. do Fleurian. The
"Liberto" says it awaited Comte de Saint Aukire's departure from London before publishing the statement.
Mr. MacDonaTd, commenting ,on the "Liberte's" statement, says: "It is absolutely untrue that I made any representations for the withdrawal of the Comte de Saint Aulaire."
