T" _ PAHIATUA, This Day. * Thomas Brannigan, an elderly man, a well-known carrier on the MakuriPongaroa road, was burned to death in. his whare at an early hour this morning at Pongaroa township. Deceased had been subject to heart attacks. The actual cause of the fire is unknown. '
