CHRISTCHURCH, 17th Dec.

There were large entries at Addington to-day in practically all sections of stock._ Fat lambs and fat cattle showed a decided firming, but other classes were unaltered in value.,

Store Sheep.—A fair-sized yarding with a brisk demand, particularly for lambs. Good rape lambs made 30s to 32a Sd, smaller lambs 27s 3d to 28s 6d. Sound and failing-mouthed woolly ewes and lambs, 32s 5d to 33s 2d, aged crossbred_ woolly ewes and lambs, 27s 9d, inferior aged shorn ewes and lambs 22s Id to 24s 4d, two-toothed crossbred ewes 32s 9d to 375. Forward, twotoother wethers 34s 3d, good two-tooth-ed halfbred wethers; 31s t 0325, small and inferior two-toothed halfbred wethers 26s to 275, four and six-toothed crossbred wethers to 33s lOd, four and six-toothed halfbred wethers 30s Id to 34s 6d, lower-conditioned four, six, and eight-toothed halfbred wethers 28s 2d to 28s 9d. ' • '

Fat Lambs.—A heavy pre-holiday yarding of over 5000 head and an advance in values, a good proportion selling at fully 13id per lb for export. Butchers paid 13^d for light lambs. Extra prime lambs 47s to 495, a special line to 51s, prime 43s to 46s 6d, medium lambs 39s 6d to 42s 6d, light lambs 33s to 395.

Fat Sheep.—An exceptionally heavy entry of over 13 races, 50 per cent, more than the recent average. The market was irregular, but generally was up to last week's rates. Exporters operated to a limited extent. Extra prime wethers made 52s Id, prune 45s to 48s, medium 40s to 445, light 34s 6d to 39s 6d, rough 31s 6d to 345. Extra prime ewes to 46s 9d, prime 40s to 42s 6d, medium 34s 6d to 395, light and inferior 31s to 345.

Fat Cattle.—Another heavy yarding of 515 head. The-market, was better in the earlier stages by 30s per head, but slipped back over the final part.' Extra prime beef made to 455, prime 40s to 435, prime heavyweights 37s to 39s 6d, medium. 34s to 37s 6d, light 30s to 33s Id, rough down to 255. Extra, prime steers £19 to £20 7s 6d, prime £16 15s to £18 10s, medium £13 5s to £16, light £11 to £13, rough £9 10s to £10 10s. Extra prime heifers to' £16 2s 6d, prime £10 5s to £13, ordinary £7 5s to £10, light £4 10s to £6 10s. Extra prime cows to £13 13s 6d, prime £9 10s to £12 10s, medium £7 to £9 ss, aged £3 oa to £6. Vealers.—A small yarding and an advance in price. Runners made to £7 15s, good vealers £3 10s to £6, good calves £2 to £3, small calves 15s to £1 12s 6d. .

Store Cattle.—Mostly heifers were entered and there was a fairly good demand. Three-year heifers made £1 to £4 ss, four-year steers to £8 ss, yearling steers and heifers 25s to 40s, cows to £2 15s.

Dairy Cattle.—A slight improvement on recent sales. Best second, third, and fourth calvers, springing-, made £6 to £8 10s, medium £3 10s to £5 155,----springing heifers £2 to £5 ss, aged cows £1.15s to £3.

Fat Pigs.—A smal entry and a firmer market. Choppers £2 10s to £4 ss, light baeoners £3 6s to £3 15s, heavy baconers £i to £l 5s (average price per 1b 6d to 6|d), light porkers £2 8s to £2 12s, heavy porkers £2 15s to £3 3s (average per 1b 7d to 7Ad). Store Pigs.—A free sale. .* Small weaners 21s to 21s, good weaners 26s to 31s, small stores 33s to 365, medium stores 38s to 455, large stores 17s to 50a 6d.
