For the past twelve months a scheme nas been on foot in Auckland by which the Grey Lynn troop of Boy Scouts has raised sufficient funds to send a representative troop to Australia to compete against scouts in that country. This will be the first occasion on which a team of New Zealand scouts lias visited Australia, and considering that Grey Ly>;;i has been the champion troop of the jOominion for the last four years the chances of a successful tour are very fay ourable, states the "New .Zealand Herald. The following shows the troop's record :—King George's Standard, 1920----£1; New Zealand Standard, 1922-23-24-Waikato Standard, 1922-23 •H B Marksmanship Cup, 1922; Otter Chall lenge bhield, 1922. Arrangements have been niade for competitions to take place in Sydney, while it is hoped to extend the tour to Melbourne. It is also expected the New Zealanders will take part in a great' "muster camp" to be held at Port Kembla, South Coast. The troop which is composed of 18 senior scouts, including the troop orchestra, will be in charge of Scoutmasters L. C. Rasmussen and O. Swales. Both Scoutmasters have had considerable experience in scout matters, 'Mr. Rasmussen having served 16 years in various parts of the world The troop will sail by the Ulimaroa on Wednesday, 24th December, returning to New Zealand about 20th January,, 1925.
