'■ The Paris correspondent of "The Times," discussing the possibility of a. French:. Ministerial crisis, as. the result of H. Herriot's illness,, points out that in the course of this next: few -, weeks many international questions of the ! highest, importance, will claim the attention of. the French.Government. . He says.there is no doubt that when -M. Herriot is sufficiently recovered he will be ordered to take a long rest. He is said to be progressing' •; satisfactorily, "but the indications are that it will be at least a .fortnight before he is able to get 'up.. .. , .. ... Meanwhile the prospect of his prolonged- absence is .'causing considerable anxiety'among his political friends, who are much perturbed,; iii regard to the: situation, which would arise ii he we're to resign. They, realise that it is only MV Herriot's personal influence that has .hitherto ' induced the Socialists to support the purely radical Government";, and if. his influence were 'withdrawn, .their adhesion might no longer be possibles;,.;".'.
