LAND AGENTS' DEBT TO HIS WIFE.

At a meeting of the creditors of Jesse James 'Hills, a .land dealer, the book debts, which amounted to over £20,000, were estimated to produce £200. The debtor produced a schedule covering the past three years, which1 showed the receipts at ;£10,500, and the expenditure at £9 less. His business and his wife's ! were mixed until June, 1923. Then she started a separate banking account. Prior to 1923, he owed his wife a considerable sum of money. Three and a-half years ago ho owed her £10,000, which had increased since then .to £11,500. Tho debtor admitted that he had been dealing on his wife's behalf on many occasions, | without consulting her, and on many ocI casions received money from her for tljo purpose of paying his debts. The meeting appointed a committee of three to go into the affairs with tho assignee.
