MARINE LABORATORY.
Those who wish well to the movement to establish a marine laboratory and aquarium at Island Bay are reminded that on Monday evening an entertainment to increase the available funds will be held at the Island Bay Hall. There will-be a good concert, programme ; some specially-selected pictures will be shown; and the entertainment as a whole is described as an excellent one" The institution to be assisted is to be an adjunct to Victoria College, and it wili provide opportunities, hitherto, not available except in the open or in small private establishments, for the close study of the biology of marine life. Tho importance of * this study, both scientifically and economically, ia great, and the campaign to raise the money needed to bnild and equip the laboratory should appeal to all friends of science and Nature study.
The J. C- Williamson Entertainers, headed by Harry Weldon, concluded their Wellington 'season at-the Grand Opera House last .evening, and left for Auckland to-day.
