SGOUT NOTES

(By "Tenderfoot.")

A very impressive initiation ceremony took place at the Trinity Boy Scout Troop gathering, on Wednesday, 15th October. • As the Commissioner was unable to attend, the organising secretary conducted the investiture, and fifteen scouts and seven wolf cubs were invested, and so became members of the world-wide Scout brotherhood. The secretary afterwards delivered an interesting address, impressing upon the. audience the usefulness and utility of the Scout movement; and also addressed the Scouts about the principles of the Scout laws and promise, that a strong and enduring influence will remain with them throughout life. The membership of the troop is, still increasing, and it is' very encouraging to note the keenness that the Scouts show in their work. The thanks of the Trinity Scouts are due to their troop committee, who arranged for a short social in connection with the investiture, and who have worked hard for the troop in many ways. The annual camp will be held at Mellings, and the Scouts are looking forward to a very enjoyable time. The cub pack^ under Packmaster Green, is progressing favourably, and will also attend the Scouts' camp. The, Trinity. Scout Troop Cricket Club will welcome invitations from other Scout troops for cricket matches.
