An association. of twelve years with the King's Theatre, during the last seven of which he has been musical director, was brought to an,end on Saturday/ last, when Mr. L. D. Austin, after the final performance,' was presented with a lhandsome token of esteem from the members of the orchestra The presentation was made by Mr C 'Alartin. Returning thanks for 'the gift and the complimentary remarks, Mr. | Austin paid "a warm tribute to the artistry, of the orchestra. A well-known resident of the Manawatu district in the person of Mr. Aaron Passey passed away at the Palm[erston North Hospital on Saturday at the age of 70 years. Deceased, who was a.native of Shropshire, came to New Zealand 19 years ago.
