Gilligan declared Eng- j land's innings closed at Saturday's score '(seven wickets for 330). ■ West Australia scored 44 runs for nine, wickets (Renfrew 11). (Received 21st October, 10 a.m.) PERTH, This Day. A. E. R. Gilligan and M. W. Tate opened the ..bowling for England. The former player takes a run of about sixteen yards, and gets up a good pace. Ho; obtained his first wicket" with tho last, ball of the over. Tate is big and strong, and takes a short run, but swings the ball in hard. J. W. H. T. Douglas moved rather stiffly, and only bowled at a moderate puce.
