"DIXIE" JUBILEE SINGERS.

The famous "Dixie" Jubilee Singers will open their New Zealand tour at the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, Ist Novemher. It is over twenty-six years since the public of this Dominion have had an opportunity to hear a genuine company of Jubilee Singers. No one who lias ever met Mr. and Mrs. Buckner can ■ doubt their sincerity of purpose, and there is no one who ever listened to their care-fully-planned and executed programme but will .realise immediately that ho is listening to the best. Throughout the length and breadth of both Canada and U.S.A. they have been greeted with the greatest enthusiasm, and the general deportment of the troupe made friends for them wherever they appeared. No matter whether it is the simple melodies of the sunny south or the more pretentious music like the "Sextette" from "Lucia," they are equally familiar with it and equally effective with jubilees, new and old, plantation songs, negTo melodies, classic, comic darky songs, sweet sentiment songs, songs of the south land, home and river, songs of the old slavery days as only the negro can sing them. This is a slight indication of what an. exceptional treat is offered to the public. ■ '" ,
