PLANT FOR EVANS BAY
-TO END A NUISANCE.
The Ma' .-, Mr. R. A. Wright, stated to-day that it had been decided after full consideration to instal an Ameri-can-made fan device for the trapping of grit and dust in the stacks at the Evans'Bay power-house, as likely to give more efficient; service, having regard to all the circumstances, than the Britishmade device considered.. The plant had been ordered, said the Mayor, and would be installed, at tho-earliest possible date. It had been suggested that no improvement had been effected by the use of temporary devices, but there was no question that the fans were collecting a considerable quantity of grit and dust.
