GIRL GUIDES
For the benefit of those who do not realise the aims and objects of the Girl Guide movement the following notes may be interesting :—To develop good_ citizenship amongst girls by forming their character; to train them to be observant and self-reliant, and to acquire habits of discipline; to instil loyalty and thoughtfulness for others: to teach them services useful to the public and handicrafts useful to themselves; to strengthen them both physically an* mentally, and to teach them good housekeeping and the right upbringing of children. The method of training is to give the girls healthy activities, which combine pleasure with a wider course of education outside the school. The movement is designed to sttsss •t'r.xs.srs their second-class badges to study bh'ds plants, and animals. '' '
