FUTURE MATCHES

OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received '27th October, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 26th October. Clear, frosty weather, and bright sunshine, which has prevailed, has had a good effect in clearing away the almost chronic colds with which various members of the All Black team have been afflicted. They were taken on a motor tour to. Lake Windermere, the largest in England, and tho Lake District, on Sunday. The team leaves for Ireland on Monday, but Harvey is :not travelling with them owing to an attack of tonsilitis.

Oxford and Cambridge Universities are both concentrating upon getting into form for tho New Zealand matches, which take place next month. Oxford is suffering from an embarassment of riches, especially in.the back division, where they have available seven international three-quarters, including the Sydney players, Wallace and Raymond, and the New Zcalander, G. G. Aitken, all of whom are displaying good form. Raymond has been tried at full-hack in several matches, and the criticß, while pointing out that he is better as a three-quarter, acclaim him as a natural successor to Franklin, last year's Bluo. Tho critics pay a particular tribute to Raymond's resolute tackling and coolness under pressure. The Queenslander, Lawton, is no longer at Oxford, but turns out regularly as a five-eighth for Blackheath, of which team ho is the most outstanding player. In the preliminary choosing of international probables Lawton's name is invariably given prominence. *
