<«STRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 25th October. It is learned that the Pacific Cable Board, having agreed to the principle of duplication, will decide on Monday the type of cable to be employed. It ia understood that experts are submitting two types for the board's consideration. It is believed the board is likely to favour a "continuously loaded" cable, of the new simples type, similar to that recently laid by the Western Union between New York and the Azores, ; which is proving thoroughly satisfactory. The cable has a capacity of 600 letters a minute. Despite tho fact that it ia a single line cable, it is regarded as eminently suitable for the board's requirements. The other type is a heavy core, similar 'to. the cable now used. This has a capacity of 180 letters a minute, or 360 if duplexed. The cost of the two cables is approximately the sam>- '
