A telegram from Kansas City sa.ys the Ku Klux Klan was characterised as "the last refuge of patriotism worthy of the name," by. the "Imperial Wizard," Hiram Evans, addressing the second imperial convocation. "Klansmen and klanswomen are virtually the salt of the earth, upon whom depends the future of civilisation," Mr. Evans added. Asserting that the future of America, and the white race hangs in the balance, Mr. Evans said: "The blood which protects human leadership must bs protected from inferior blood, from the competition which saps the vitality of leadership.' History proves that only tho Aordic and Anglo-Saxon peoples havo reached a high level of intelligence. Every attack against the Klan maka mor« clear-cut tho issue of Americanism against alienism."
