ROLLING STOCK AND BUSES

ADDITIONAL CARS SOON READY.

In reply to a request made by the Roseneath and' Mount Victoria Progressive Association that the council should increase its rolling stock as a means of relieving the overcrowding of cars and that the policy of running an efficient motor bus service might also be considered, a letter is to be sent slating that the construction of additional cars is being proceeded with as fast as possible and that in addition to two cars just completed another six will be ready for service before Christinas. ■ The suggestion that a bus service should be introduced does not, in the opinion of the Tramway Committee, warrant serious consideration, as the cost to tlio Department would be considerably higher than that of the present service.
