CANCER CAMPAIGN APPEAL
The question of what would be Ul3 most suitable time for the launching of a campaign in Wellington to help raise New Zealand's quota for the British Empire Cancer Campaign Appeal Fund was discussed at a combined meeting of the wnr-time and peace execntives'of the Wellington division of the Red Cross Society, held yesterday afternoon. Mr. J. Burnett, who presided, stated that an endeavour was being made to collect £500 or more in Welli:\;ton towards tho sum of £20Q0, which it was proposed New Zealand should subscribe to "the fund. Although he was of the opinion that the appeal deserved full support, Mr. Burnett considered that it was inopportune at present to start a campaign. Dr. Morgan, Galloway, and Mr. Mabin also agreed that it was mad* visable to 'appeal to the public for funds at this time of the year, and it was resolved that the meeting be adjourned to some date to be fixed in February" next.
