The.Leader of the Labour Party (Mr.H. "E. Holland) challenged the Minister of Education in the House of Bepresentatives last evening to explain the teachers grading scheme. Mr. Parr: .'.' The head of the Department could do it in a few minutes." << i! * assume ne could," said Mr. Parr - because he understands it." '" wI Why cm' t youI" asked the Mm Mr. Holland: "For the same reason that you. can't. ... If the Minister thinks he can explain the scheme let him do so now. He knows he could not do it, and it is not reasonable t» expect the average teacher to be able to do it " rt, U FraSe^ (Wellingt°a Central) thought the grading scheme might be roade a subject' for examination for training college students. If they could give a lucid explanation they would-be nt tor any position,' even that of Ministerial head of the Department.
